U.S. Army veteran searching for witnesses in Ft. Bragg parachute failure and typhoon at Camp Humphreys in South Korea

This is a call for witnesses. U.S. Army veteran Michael Thiemann is seeking information from anyone who would have witnessed the following events:

  1. A parachute failure that occurred at Ft. Bragg in approximately January of 1998, in which a solider hit the ground without his chutes deploying.
  2. In 1998, a typhoon that occurred in South Korea, in which Camp Humphreys was flooded and a solider was trapped in a multi-floor barracks. Mr. Thiemann along with his fellow soldiers helped get people out with ropes attached to handrails, and then turned to salvaging equipment through the flood water and sewage.

Mr. Thiemann served in the Army from 1995 to 2002 as an MP. He did his Basic and AIT training at Ft. McClellan, AL. He was then stationed with the ISB HQ INSCOM at Ft. Belvoir, Va., until 1997. He served overseas at Camp Humphreys in South Korea in 1998 with the 3 MI ABN (AE), and then returned stateside to Ft. Bragg, NC, with the 65th MP CO (ABN) and then with the 42nd MP Det (MPO) AWOL Apprehension. In 2000, he went to Ft. Leavenworth, KS, where he served with the 501 MP DET from 2000 to 2003.

If you recall any information regarding these events, please contact Brown & Curry. Your information is important!
