National Personnel Records Center Loses More Records

It’s a special kind of disappointment when the VA insists you prove your claim using records they lost. Now it may even prove harder. An audit recently found that an employee at the St. Louis National Personnel Records Center misplaced about 800 files, nearly 3/4ths of the files he was assigned.

I have yet to come across a case where the VA gave the veteran the benefit of the doubt in these cases. Your only real chance is to rely on your own resources to find records, collect statements and corroborate your claims.
